Oil on Canvas

12 x 12”

  • I am drawn to capturing the tiny details present in everyday moments: the texture of my duvet cover during sunset, the way sunlight spills onto the wooden floorboards at three o’clock, the deep shadows in my bright orange purse when I place it on the hanger after returning home. I paint visually interesting textures and patterns and attempt to portray the complicated relationship between light, color, and time. My work plays with clarity and focus, creating tension between sharp details and soft haziness that together produce a dreamlike effect. This juxtaposition invokes a sense of movement within a static image. I enjoy making art that allows the eye to dance through the work, never landing too quickly, bringing life to the inanimate objects of my everyday world. Subtle, intentional shifts in undertones capture a singular moment in time, simultaneously vibrant and melancholic in their nostalgia of the present moment.

My work is a labor of love for color, texture, fashion, and the current state of my life. It reflects my anxiety, sentimentality, lust for life, and love of beauty and sensation. Each painting carries the history of the objects I choose to depict, lived-in pieces from my day to day, allowing the viewer to peek into my visual diary and witness a fleeting moment that now lasts forever.
